When Metal music in the Middle East Is mentioned, it normally brings surprise and disbelief. Little do people know, the Middle East has a growing scene of music. Not the usual Bollywood, but Metal.

With almost 65, 000 plus views and 196 ratings of the song on You Tube. The LUMS guy deserves first ranking with his hit single. He writes, composes and sings his songs himself, with lot of melancholy in his songs. The fresh talent is not bound to red tape limitations; Bilal proves it by hitting on You Tube, with his deep and mesmerizing song.
With a song for Bollywood Film Jashan, Nouman delivers his moaning and powerful vocals with very soft guitar touches in the song. The deep grief and sad touch goes well with the lyrics.
With the video of song “Tanha”, Qayaas has really done a good job. The song has more instrumentation with a dark touch to it. With higher tempos added afterwards, Tanha turns out to be a heavy rocking hit with strong riffs and drums. Umeed is a comparatively lighter track.
Qayaas is a Pakistani band that started when Khurram Waqar (previously in the successful bands, Knumb and Entity Paradigm) heard Umair Jaswal at a studio, shooting a show for ARY Musik that involved promoting upcoming bands in Islamabad. Umair was already in a band called Silversmoke, a band that is popular, with rocking songs such as ‘Zakham’ and ‘Soch’. For Khurram, his band Knumb weren’t progressing, due to a band member living far away. Knumb even made an album, but it is on hold. Khurram then contacted Umair, both being very enthusiastic with working together. The line up was complete when other members came into the scene. The line-up is Umair Jaswal (also in Silversmoke) as the vocalist, Khurram Waqar (from Knumb and Entity Paradigm) as the lead guitarist, Sarmad Ghafoor (from Rungg) on rhythm guitars, Sherry on bass and Fifu on drums, who were both from the band Surge. Recently, we reported that Qayaas will not be playing in the Noori gig due to miss-management and payment issues. We recommended you to get the refund before the concert starts due to expected mishaps. Noori did perform in the event but the organizers did anything and everything to screw it up.
A friend at Pakiology wrote an article about what really happened at the event and willingly agreed to share that with the viewers of KoolMuzone.
The music scene in Islamabad is down due to the unprofessional organizers who are ruining the concerts in the capital city. The fans are completely disappointed by the cancellations of concerts and certain events of bands not showing up in the concert. {Read More…}

Qayaas was supposed to play live tonight along with Noori and Jal at PNCA. Due to negligence of organizers, Qayaas will be unable to perform. Recently, in a show Ep’s absence from the concert due to untimely promised payments by the organizers, caused violence in the crowd which resulted in thrashing of instruments and system. As lots of people bought tickets for Qayaas the disappearance of Qayaas may cause violence too. It is highly recommended that you get your passes refunded before the concert.

The Sweetleaf City Jam this year was surely the biggest Jam session ever in Islamabad if not in Pakistan. It was also the soft launch of the new hangout spot for musicians “THE ROCK” (Zeejah‘s vision and execution).
