JoSH has become the first South Asian band to be a part of one of the largest international festivals in North America. JoSH will be performing at the Quebec City Summer Festival on July 14th at 17:30, with the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Rush, Billy Talent, Santana, Iron Maiden and many more! It’s a FREE concert and is one of the most amazing events in the country.

JoSH, based in Canada has received international acclaim after releasing 3 chart-topping albums and has been producing, writing, and singing hit songs for over a decade and have performed in over 25 countries. Their different influences and unique ideas blend to give JoSH’s music that fresh sound which you can hear in every single song. With collaborations with international artists such as Nelly Furtado, Sukhbir, Apache Indian, Jas become the most widely recognized Indo-Canadian band on the globe.

Rup Magon of JoSH is currently in Michigan for the shooting of his first Hollywood cameo. According to him it’s a big budget horror film film with big sets. Rup Magon updated his fans about the film through following tweet:

In the middle of Nowhere, Michigan shooting for my first Hollywood cameo. Big set! Horror film called Jinn.

So, for now we can only imagine how this JoSHila person would look in a horror film and only time will tell if  he will be able to scare us with some JoSH.

The band that showcases both modern and traditional bhangra beats and music, but are strongly influenced by hip hop and pop music, are now back to rock you again with another record. Since recently, JoSH has been working on the new album and the recordings are in process. Just today, Rup Magon updated his fans about the upcoming album through a tweet

Recorded an absolutely beautiful track called Meri Dua. the album is sounding Bharrri Hot (also the name of another track)

This is going to be fourth studio album by the band after “Main Hoon Tanha”, “Kabhi” and “Mausam”.

Given the nature of the current socio-political climate, venues, musicians and organisers are wary of what to expect at a concert. Likewise, the people themselves also share a sense of cautiousness when going out and about. Thankfully, that wasn’t the mood when JoSH, Aunty Disco Project and 90 Degrees performed recently at the Royale Rodale in Karachi.

The concert kicked off with 90 Degrees. Though a relatively unknown band, the members of the group should be commended for performing whilst the organisers were still trying to work out the sound check. This didn’t bode well for 90 Degree’s performance as the sound was all over the place during its performance. However, the band deserved an A for effort as not that many bands can pull off a decent cover of Sajjad Ali’s songs (including Sajjad Ali’s own cover of Didi by Khaled, Babiya). {Read More…}
