As we all know that Ali Zafar was not signing any record label for his third studio album ‘Jhoom‘ and was planning to release it on his own. So now Ali Zafar has confirmed the news in an interview with Express 24/7 that he is launching his own record label “Alif Records” tomorrow (i.e 23rd June) and is also launching his film house “Alif Films“, the same day, which will be releasing films in Pakistan.

This is a big news for Pakistani music and film industry that a star like Ali Zafar has taken a step to help both the industries which have been going through a lot of difficulties because of piracy issues, poor managements and many more.

The Prince of Pop, Ali Zafar who has always made peppy music, has taken a step in a new direction, the Sufi direction. He tells that his new venture ‘Jhoom‘ is a totally mature Sufi album, something that he has never tried before.

“Jhoom is a sufi album, and it takes my music to another level. It’s different from anything I have ever done before. I think today’s music survives only for a month, and I believe that music should be timeless. I want to be remembered for my music.” {Read More…}

Ali Zafar is recording a studio version of ‘Dastaan e Ishq‘ which has already garnered enormous fame from the 2nd season of Coke Studio Sessions. He is recording the song with Baqir Abbas, the flute player who performed with Ali in Coke Studio, for his upcoming album titled ‘Jhoom‘. The album is in the final stages of mixing. This time he is mixing, arranging, recording, writing, playing keyboards and synthesizing everything by himself. Ali Zafar plans to release the album independently without the support of a record label.

Ali Zafar is preferring serious music this time. Probably the tremendous response to his sufi performances in Coke Studio sessions made him choose this genre of music. A good news for all his fans is that his new album titled ‘Jhoom’ will be out real soon. Currently he is working on a new music video, may be of his unreleased title song ‘Jhoom’ which he has performed for the first time at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2010. Ali Zafar will also be singing the songs for his debut film ‘Tere Bin Laden‘
