Guns N’ Roses and Faraz Anwar were supposed to work on the project “The Dreamer Awakes“, says Pakistan’s master of progressive rock himself. The peace through music project which is now in the hands of Atif Aslam was supposed to be in Faraz’ hands.
He was completely furious about the project he started as he has been cut off without even giving him any credit. He added, “Some people take information from you and cut you off from something you started without even giving you credit.”
Atif who is now collaborating with popular American rock band, Guns N’ Roses and is the face of the ‘Pakistan America Peace Through Music Project‘, was chosen by the musician turned humanitarian Todd Shea. Atif says, “Todd mentioned my voice being the main reason why he chose me the face of the project. After listening to me, he became a fan and then he started researching on me and found out that this guy is famous.”
“The point of teaming up with American musicians is that there is no better way than music to let people from both sides know what each thinks about the other.” – Atif Aslam jams with Guns N’ Roses

‘Bol‘ a film by Shoaib Mansoor has been in news for a long time now mostly because Atif Aslam was acting in it and all of his fans were thinking as if he was doing the lead role in the film which he is not. Sources close to the film have confirmed that Atif Aslam is not doing the lead, but a supporting role in the film. BOL is not a typical hero heroine film. Humaima Abbasi and Manzar Sehbai are doing two of the major roles supported by Shafqat Cheema, Iman Ali, Atif Aslam, Mahira khan, Amir Kashmiri, Zeb Sajjad and many others. It is a very shocking news for Atif Aslam fans who were eager to watch him act in a lead role.
The reliable source also said, “no one is actually a lead in BOL they all have some specific role but no one is lead!!”
The film will not be releasing in early September but some time after EID.
But well whatever, we are still going to watch the movie because of Atif, won’t we?

Atif Aslam’s Message:
Dear fans ~
Hope u r thinking about the contribution towards the flood victims and doing the best u can. My advice ~ Please go by yourself , send ur relatives , friends or anyone and have a look at what is this NATION going through as sitting at home and talking about relief camps wont do much .
If u guys want any sort ov information or help regarding supplies or anything related to victims u can write us at youth@aadeez.com and we will let u know every possible detail we can.
The pictures u can see are from charsada peshawar and although the flood has passed away but it has left behind its devastation and the magnitude ov it is just starting to reveal the catastrophe it has created. No doubt this is much much bigger than tsunami. I saw the dead out ov their graves while i was there looking at them but could do nothing. The kids didnt even know where they use to play. They have lost their loved ones and can do nothing about it , sadly but certainly they are waiting for someone to hold their hand n give them strength to live.
MY apologies for not writing anything at the independence day but i think going up there n helping the victims was a better deal rather than sitting here, talking about PAKISTAN’s independence.
.
save PAKISTAN

Since recently I have seen a lot of musicians complaining about not having the ownership of their fan pages. A lot of fans, promoters, blogs/websites tend to create fan pages of musicians while they aren’t authorized to do so. With the fame or popularity of musician they then grab tons of fans and promote content that doesn’t really relate to page. This also results in multiple pages about the same thing and fans get distributed between.
This not only results in promotion of non-relevant content but kills the artist-fan discussion that fan page can very well induce.
Today, Atif Aslam‘s management has claimed rights on all the unofficial pages made on Atif Aslam on Facebook which included fan pages with over 100,000 members. This resulted in deletion of all unauthorized fan pages and not only that, Facebook was kind enough to shift all the fans to the official fan page which now has over 255,000 fans.
I think it’s a great step by the artist management and an eye-opener for those who had been complaining about it earlier. {Read More…}
