Having sold close to 30,000 copies of his debut album “Chapter One: The Prince Who Would Be King” and thousands of mixtapes before it, Kamran Rasheed Khan known as Lazarus has made himself an icon in the underground hip hop scene of today and continues to grow in the streets and throughout the internet. MTV VMA award nominee Anthony Garth (director of The White Stripes, Eminem, Three Six Mafia, and Jim Jones) recently directed the video for Lazarus’ first album single “Let The Game Know” after seeing his notoriety on the Discovery Channel documentary he was featured in, entitled “The Real 8 Mile” that was aired worldwide and hosted by 2-time Pulitzer prize winning New York Times writer Charlie LeDuff. Pakistan’s most prominent rapper, Adil Omar will be collaborating with the award winning producer Farid Karam Nassar, better known as FredWreck. They both will be working on Adil Omar’s untitled debut album (coming in 2012).
According to Adil, FredWreck will be producing a track or two for his debut album, one with a special surprise guest.
FredWreck is a record producer from Los Angeles, California who got his big break when he became a producer for Dr. Dre’s newly founded Aftermath Records label and worked on his multi-platinum selling album ‘The Chronic 2001′, and went on to work with Snoop Dogg’s record label Dogghouse Records (now Doggystyle Records) and became a known producer on Tha Dogg Pound-affiliated material. {Read More…}
For the soundtrack of the documentary Bhutto, which released in Pakistan on last Friday, Benazir Bhutto’s daughter Bakhtawar teamed up with Stewart Copeland to rework the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) iconic song “Dila Teer Bija”. Copeland is the ex-drummer for The Police.
